This past weekend we decided to spend some time in Whistler BC, to take in the scenery and celebrate Canada Day. The road to Whistler is called the Sea to Sky highway and it is breathtaking. Mountains on one side and the beautiful ocean with small islands on the other side. A must see for anyone visiting beautiful British Columbia!!

Arizona in review
Wow it's already been a week and a bit since we've returned to the hectic, running around life we knew before going on a 7 day trip, but our time in Arizona was very relaxing and filled with sunshine!! We spent most days outside, hiking or shopping or just lounging by the pool. It was a great down time for us all! Some of the highlights include: going to a Phoenix Coyotes game for $11 each!, going on a sunset hike of the Superstitious Mountains, swimming in the heated pool, enjoying a couple games of golf and shopping for those amazing deals.

{cacti & Vit. D, what more could you want?}
Our first full day and it was great! We started off the day by going on a walk around the neighbourhood. I was in awe of the many varieties of cacti!!
We then got a huge dose of Vitamin D by heading poolside for some swimming and R&R. Let me tell you it felt wonderful. After a week of us all getting some form of the latest flu bug... we desperately needed some relaxing down time, and this was just what the doctor ordered!
For our evening fun we headed to the Phoenix Coyotes game and watched them play the Colorado Avalanche {score 3-0}. The tickets we found were $11 each! J had a blast, dancing and yelling away. The kids got some signs made by a few of the cheerleaders, so they were shaking those. It was a very fun time.

touch down in Arizona
We arrived in Arizona this afternoon and the first thing J said was how much it reminded him of Mexico. It was so nice and sunny and WARM, such a treat seeing as when we left home it was gray, rainy and cold! The flight went smooth and it was amazing flying over the Grand Canyon! Wow what a site!
We touched down in Arizona and picked up our mini van, impressed with just how spacious those things are! The kids sat way at the back and we actually could have a 1-1 conversation with no interruptions!! Another nice touch - Sirus radio!!
We found our way around very easily to M&M's home away from home, admiring the many palm trees and huge cacti. I was finding it very difficult to co-pilot and snap my photos! Arriving at M&M's they had a great superbowl snacks waiting for us and we watched the sunset on our first few hours in AZ! Can't wait till tomorrow.

countdown to ARIZONA
Well our first trip in 2011 is to Arizona. We have been planning it for about 3 months. Thanks to M&M, we are staying with them for 1 week. We've never been to Arizona, so we're excited for the new adventures. Of course J is excited for the Coyotes game we'll go to see, K is excited for the amazing shopping that we here about, D is excited for golfing and just to get away, and I am excited for the photo opps and the sun! Oh I think we're all excited about the sun and hopefully warm weather, although apparently they are going through a cold snap! I still refuse to bring my winter jacket!
Just a few more sleeps, a bunch more running around, a few more days of work and few more lessons to learn at school, and then we're off for 7 days of Arizona sun. Stay tuned to our desert adventures!
